Collection Releases: 8 Tips to Get the Piece You Want

So you saw a post on Instagram and you fell in love with a jewelry design…now what?
While my collection launches tend to sell out quickly, that doesn’t mean you can't get the piece you want! Here are my top tips to help give you a leg up on snagging your dream piece when the time comes.
1. STAY IN THE LOOP
I recently did a poll in my Instagram stories asking my customers if they had ever missed one of my collection releases because the Instagram algorithm didn't show them my sale post until it was too late. 80% of respondents answered YES! If this sounds like you, make sure you never miss the news about a new collection drop again by signing up for my email list! Anytime I set a date and time for a new collection release, I will be sure to notify my subscribers by email with the news. Additionally, I will be doing occasional surprise releases that I will open up to my email subscribers before I announce that the sale is happening on social media.
2. SET AN ALARM
Either click the countdown timer in my Instagram stories or set yourself a reminder on your phone so that you don’t accidentally miss the sale time. Popular pieces sell out in minutes so this is the number one tip to get what you want!
3. BE PRESENT
Log onto kaypeajewelry.com a few minutes before the sale goes live and refresh the page when the time comes. If you wanted to buy any other made to order pieces as well, add them to your shopping cart before the sale goes live.
4. KNOW WHAT YOU WANT
Know what you want in advance. Watch the previews in my Instagram stories and ask any questions you may have before the sale goes live. In some of my made-to-finish sales, I offer the choice of having the piece finished as a necklace, ring or cuff bracelet. Decide in advance what style you want so the checkout process goes faster.
5. HAVE A BACKUP PLAN
Just in case, have a second or third choice already figured out in case your number one is already sold.
6. KNOW YOUR SIZE
This is especially important for rings. You will be prompted to enter your ring size when you make your selection. If you don’t know your size, don’t panic! There is an option to select “I don’t know my ring size” and you can then take a couple of days to figure it out and let me know. Check out my blog post on figuring out your ring size if you need help.
7. MAKE AN ACCOUNT
You can now make a Kaypea Jewelry account on my website. This will speed up the checkout process by allowing you to save your shipping and payment details.
8. HAVE YOUR PAYMENT READY
Have your payment info handy and know how you will pay. My website accepts all credit cards, PayPal & Afterpay. Keep your credit card nearby so you don’t have to go looking for it when you are checking out. While Afterpay is an amazing resource to break your payment down into installments, it has caused issues during collection releases in the past. If you choose to pay with Afterpay there is a slight lag at checkout. Due to this, during high traffic times while you are going through the Afterpay process someone else can still purchase the item if they use another payment option. Due to some glitch in the system, both orders will still go through and I will have a double order for one item. In this instance, I will need to go by order number and often the Afterpay order comes in after the other order. If this occurs I will let you know ASAP. I cannot find a way around this and just want buyers to be aware that this is a possibility!

While following these tips won't guarantee that you will always get the piece you have your eye on, they will certainly give you a leg up! If you do miss out, let me know which piece you wanted by entering your email in the form to be notified when the style you want is back in stock. While one of a kind pieces can't necessarily be reproduced and "restocked", getting these notifications helps me to know which designs are most popular so when the time comes to bring another collection to life, I can take that information and make future designs in a similar style.
Thanks for reading and GOOD LUCK!
